Alaska's Denali National Parkis six million acres of wild, pristine, protected land...bisected by only one little ribbon of road. I have such an affinity to the vastness that awaits me every time I'm there, that it still takes my breath away.
This particular series was taken while I flew into Denali from Talkeetna (an almost three hour drive north of Anchorage). Taking my father north for the first time, I let him have the front passenger seat of the DeHaviland Turbine Otter. Flying across the land, we spotted Mt. McKinley (20,320') far ahead of us. Following the large Kahiltna Glacier was exhilarating; and seeing the dance of light and shadow among the crevasses, rocky peaks and glacial moraines made the entire flight a photographer's delight.
