Located in the West Central part of Tasmania, Australia, Cradle Mountain is part of the wild Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park area. I spent time in the northernmost part of the park, hiking in the morning mist up to Crater Lake, up to Cradle Mountain, and back down and around the circumference of Lake Dove.

Basically having the entire place to myself at that time of year, it was like stepping back to a primordial era ... peaceful, misty, with only the crack of a stick under foot to bring you back to your alert senses. Along the stream beds you could see the well-worn trail of a shy platypus. And in the grass, another path used by the round and determined wombat.

This morning, though, I'm content to wander on the trail and capture the beauty as best as any one opening of the shutter can do.
